Freelance / Contractor Agreement
Three engagement models — fixed project, monthly retainer or hourly — with scope, fees, IP and standard clauses. Free, and processed privately.
How to write a freelance agreement
- Choose the model — fixed project, monthly retainer or hourly.
- Enter the client, the freelancer and the scope of work.
- Set the fee, payment schedule and who owns the IP.
- Print or “Save as PDF”, and have both parties sign.
Three ways freelancers get paid
- Fixed project — a set fee for a defined deliverable, paid on milestones or delivery.
- Monthly retainer — an ongoing monthly fee for a defined scope of hours/work.
- Hourly — billed per hour against a timesheet, invoiced weekly or monthly.
Note: this is a general template, not legal advice — have a lawyer review before signing.
