Privacy Policy

Plain English. No dark patterns.

๐Ÿ”’ Your files are processed private โ€” never uploaded, never stored

Effective date: 21 July 2026 ยท Last updated: 21 July 2026

The short version

Vaend's tools run entirely in your browser. When you compress an image, edit a PDF or make an invoice, the file is opened and processed on your own device. It is never uploaded to any server โ€” not ours, not anyone's โ€” and nothing you create is stored by us unless you explicitly turn on the optional cloud backup described below.

We keep only anonymous, aggregated usage statistics to know which tools are useful. No ads, no behavioural ad-tracking, no selling of personal data โ€” ever.

Who we are

Vaend (vaend.com) is a free utility suite owned and operated by Chitrangana (chitrangana.com), a business-architecture and digital-commerce firm operating since 2007. For the limited personal data described here, Chitrangana is the data controller (and, under India's DPDP Act, the Data Fiduciary). You can reach us at [email protected] or via the contact page.

What we collect โ€” and what we don't

We do not collect

We do process, minimally

On-device storage

Features like saved invoices/receipts/POS bills, your business profile, history, favourites and preferences (theme, region) are stored in your browser's localStorage / IndexedDB. This data stays on your device until you clear it โ€” we cannot read it. You can view and wipe it anytime from "Manage my data" in the footer, or from your browser settings.

Optional cloud backup (off by default)

You may opt in to back up your own saved documents (invoices, quotations, receipts, POS bills, business profile) so you can restore them on another device. When โ€” and only when โ€” you turn this on in "Manage my data":

Analytics & cookies

To understand which tools are useful, we use privacy-friendly analytics via Google Analytics 4 (loaded through Google Tag Manager). This records anonymous, aggregated information such as page views, which tool was used, approximate region, device type and referrer. IP addresses are anonymised and ad-personalisation / Google-signals are disabled.

This is genuine usage measurement โ€” not behavioural ad tracking. The contents of your files are never part of it, because your files never reach us. Analytics may set or read cookies/identifiers; you can block them with your browser or an ad-blocker, or via a Global Privacy Control (GPC) / "Do Not Track" signal, with no effect on any tool. We honour GPC as an opt-out of "sale"/"sharing" where applicable.

Third-party services

These providers act as our processors or independent controllers for the limited data above and maintain their own safeguards.

International data transfers

Vaend is operated from India and served globally via Cloudflare's network. The limited data described here (anonymous analytics, optional backups, feedback) may be processed on servers outside your country, including in India, the United States and the EEA. Where required, transfers rely on appropriate safeguards such as the EU/UK Standard Contractual Clauses and our providers' certified transfer mechanisms.

How long we keep data

Your rights by region

Because we hold so little personal data, most requests are satisfied instantly by you using "Manage my data" (view, export, delete). Beyond that, you have the following rights depending on where you live. To exercise any of them, email [email protected]; we respond within the timeframe your law requires.

๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡บ EEA & ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง UK โ€” GDPR / UK GDPR

Our legal bases are your consent (analytics, optional cloud backup) and our legitimate interests (keeping the service secure and improving it), which you may object to. You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to processing, and to data portability. You may withdraw consent at any time and lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority (e.g. your national DPA, or the UK ICO).

๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ USA โ€” California (CCPA/CPRA) & other states

You have the right to know, access, correct and delete personal information, and to opt out of "sale"/"sharing" and targeted advertising. We do not sell or share your personal information and we do not use sensitive information for inferring characteristics. We honour Global Privacy Control signals. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ India โ€” DPDP Act, 2023

As a Data Principal you may access a summary of your personal data, seek correction or erasure, nominate another person to exercise your rights, and raise a grievance. Contact our Grievance Officer at [email protected]; if unresolved, you may approach the Data Protection Board of India.

๐Ÿ‡ฏ๐Ÿ‡ต Japan โ€” APPI

You may request disclosure, correction, addition, deletion or cessation of use of your retained personal data. The purpose of use is limited to operating and improving Vaend and responding to you, as described above. We do not provide personal data to third parties except the processors listed here.

๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ฌ Singapore โ€” PDPA

You may request access to and correction of personal data in our possession, and withdraw consent for its collection, use or disclosure. Our Data Protection Officer can be reached at [email protected]. We collect only what a reasonable person would consider appropriate for the purposes above.

Children

Vaend is a general-audience utility suite and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children below the age at which parental consent is required in your country. If you believe a child has provided personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

Contact & grievances

Questions, requests, or complaints about privacy? Email [email protected] or use the contact page. Vaend is built and operated by Chitrangana (chitrangana.com), which also serves as Grievance Officer / Data Protection Officer for these purposes.

We may update this policy as Vaend grows or as laws change. Material changes will be reflected here with a new "Last updated" date. This policy is provided in good faith to describe our actual practices; it is a general statement and not legal advice.
