Why your photos know where you live

Almost every photo a phone or camera takes hides a block of data called EXIF inside the file. It can include the precise GPS coordinates of where the picture was taken, the exact date and time, the camera or phone model, and dozens of technical settings. When you post that photo — on a marketplace listing, a forum, a dating profile — anyone who downloads it can read that location. This tool shows you exactly what's there and lets you wipe it in one click, without the photo ever leaving your device.

Frequently asked questions

Is my photo or its location uploaded anywhere?

No. Reading the EXIF and creating the clean copy both happen inside your browser. Nothing is uploaded — which is the whole point of a privacy tool.

Does removing metadata change how the photo looks?

No visible change. The clean copy is re-saved without any metadata; for JPEGs it's exported at high quality, and you can also save as PNG for a lossless copy.

Which formats are supported?

It reads EXIF from JPEG, TIFF, HEIC and many RAW files, and can export a clean JPEG or PNG.
