Does converting to JPG remove transparency?
Yes — JPG has no transparency, so transparent areas become white. Use PNG or WebP if you need to keep transparency.
Why is AVIF sometimes unavailable?
AVIF encoding depends on your browser. If your browser can't create AVIF, Vaend will tell you and you can pick WebP instead — which is nearly as small and widely supported.
