How to generate a strong password

Drag the Length slider — 16 or more characters is a great, safe choice.
Tick the character types you want: uppercase, lowercase, numbers and symbols. More variety means a stronger password.
Optionally switch on Exclude ambiguous so look-alike characters like O/0 and l/1 don't confuse you when typing.

What counts as a strong password?

Length matters most. A password of 16 or more characters mixing uppercase, lowercase, numbers and symbols is very hard to guess. The strength meter estimates this from the length and the variety of characters you allow.
