No. Vaend's video editor uses a WebAssembly build of FFmpeg that runs entirely in your browser. Your video stays on your device and is never uploaded.

Why does it download something the first time?

Why is there a one-time download?

Real video editing needs a real engine. The first time you process a clip, your browser fetches the FFmpeg WebAssembly engine (about 32MB) and caches it, so every edit after that starts straight away.

How big a video can it handle?

Because it runs in your browser's memory, it's best for clips up to a few hundred MB. Very long or 4K videos may be slow or run out of memory on low-end phones — trim first, or lower the resolution.

Which formats are supported?

It reads common formats (MP4, MOV, WebM, MKV, AVI and more) and exports MP4, WebM, GIF, MP3 or a PNG frame.
