How to count working days

  1. Pick a mode: Days between two dates, or Add working days to a date.
  2. Choose your dates (and, in add mode, how many business days to add).
  3. Open Also skip these holidays and paste your public holidays if you want them excluded.
  4. Click the button — you'll instantly see working days, weekend days and totals, all calculated privately.

Why a business-day counter is handy

Deadlines are rarely measured in plain calendar days. Notice periods, cheque clearing, income-tax and GST timelines, court and government processing windows, delivery SLAs and leave planning are usually counted in working days — Monday to Friday, with public holidays taken out. Counting those by hand is easy to get wrong, especially across long stretches or festival seasons.

Common uses

India-first friendly

Add national holidays like Independence Day (15 Aug) and Gandhi Jayanti (2 Oct), plus your state or company holidays, so the count matches your real office calendar. Everything runs in your browser — your dates never leave your device.

Frequently asked questions

How do I count business days between two dates?

Use Days between mode, pick your start and end dates, and Vaend counts every Monday–Friday between them, skipping Saturdays, Sundays and any holidays you add.

Does it skip public holidays?

Yes — paste your holidays, one per line as YYYY-MM-DD, and they're removed from working-day counts in both modes.

Is the start date included?

In Days between mode both ends are counted when they're working days. When adding working days, counting starts from the next working day after your start date.
